I began tutoring structures in college when approached by a member of the architecture faculty. I took on the added responsibility with the hope that, in addition to helping other students achieve success, I would attain a deeper and more holistic understanding of previously learned material. The courses for which I have been a tutor include elements of algebra, geometry, calculus, and physics. I tutored multiple structures courses for 3 years, and students showed high levels of success on their formal exams. Teaching is a very dynamic endeavor. As each student learns differently, it is inimitably important for the instructor to show versatility in his or her approach. I very much enjoy education and working with children/young adults. Teaching is something that can and should be performed in different ways depending on the student. Everybody has their own unique learning style. I believe in visual learning and working through example problems to help develop better understanding. I feel that through a hands on approach students can and will meet their potential. When in undergraduate school for physics I acted as a tutor for portions of my junior and senior years.
