Since Chemistry is both qualitative and quantitative, I encourage students to actively participate in the classroom. When I explain a problem involving calculations, I want my students to actively participate in the solution of it and not be just passive receptors. The same goes for writing formulas and names for compounds. The key to succeed in Chemistry is active participation and practice problems, and I always emphasize that to my students. Whenever possible, I use visual aids or videos downloaded from the Internet to present certain topics that involve abstract concepts.
