I have extensive experience with a variety of math grades as the Instructional Coach for Indianapolis Public Schools and Christel House Academy. I approach teaching as a challenge; as I know not every student learns the same way. I first start by finding a common ground; a level of knowledge if you will. Essentially I find what they know and where do they need help. Students learn better when they see the relevance of the material they are studying to their own lives. In many subject areas this relevance is not obvious, and students may tune out as a result. I always use concrete examples that students can relate to when explaining a concept.
