My teaching style allows for the student to have a lot of self-revelation through answering leading questions, practicing hands on when applicable, and reviewing of mistakes—I find it is very helpful to not ‘erase’ a problem when a mistake has been made but to instead circle the mistake and begin again, the error is watching to ensure the error is not repeated. Math should be READ first, understanding that the last part of the challenge in the equation is usually the calculations. Words used in mathematics often have the same meaning as when used outside of a mathematical situation or scenario, and it is the definition that will aide in remembering the formula.
