**My comments on tutoring Statistics :** I have assisted many students earn Top grades in Statistics.

My goal as an academic tutor is to help you or your student understand important concepts and formulas, while applying them to any problems or exercises that are gone over in lecture or assigned for homework.

Since 2001, I have been privileged to have tutored over 700 students in the very intense subjects of Organic chemistry, General chemistry, Calculus, and Physics. I take pride in my tutoring, in that my students will succeed inside and outside of the classroom. I have tutored over 25,000 hours since 2001 both paid and volunteer peer tutoring. I will go the extra mile to see that you or you student succeed and reach the pinnacle of their potential!

Nick S. is fantastic! He helped my daughter with her AP Statistics at the very last minute with her crazy schedule. Wish we had found him years ago!

Nick is hands down the best statistics tutor!
My name is Dan and I have been with Nick for at least two years. We first met while I was studying Algebra 1 in high school. Nick helped me through that then Algebra 2. I then started attending Los Angeles Mission College in Sylmar. I began again with Nick and he helped me get an A in Beginning / intermediate Algebra. My last two semesters have dealt with Statistics. I passed both Pre-statistics and Statistics with an A in both. Math is a difficult subject for me and Nick was most patient, and explained the problems in a real world context that made it so much easier to understand. If you are facing the daunting challenge of probabilities, T - tests, ANOVA and all the other aspects of college statistics, then you can't do better. One other thing about Nick, he is really a nice guy, as friendly as they get.

Great Stats Tutor!
- Briana F. Calabases, CA on 11/03/2017 I messaged Nick and he responded within minutes. It was a last minute decision to find a tutor and he met me a few hours after we connected on here. Very good at explaining this and why they are the way they are. He really helped me understand the concepts of confidence intervals, etc. in less than one hour. We finished my session early and I was very well prepared for my exam. I would HIGHLY recommend. Thank you Nick!
Brianna,

My teaching style is very simple and straight forward. When I work with students, by observing them to solve problems I can tell where they need help.

**UCLA: Math/Science/Computers/Executive Functions**

I'm a graduate of UCLA Engineering with a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 14 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven very effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success! EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING: Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attributed to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up w ... read more

I recommend which study manuals to use, how to best prepare for the exam, and help the student prepare from the beginning to the end teaching you concepts that are not explained in the study manuals. **Math and Microsoft Office Tutoring for Adult Learners**

I look forward to using my experience working with adults (college students, new employees, clients, professionals) to help each student to progress academically. As a professional facilitator, I am skilled at bringing students to an understanding of the material. Training new employees has provided me with the skills to help adults get oriented to new material and information.

My style is based on incorporating everyday experiences to make the lessons come to life in the mind of the student. As adult learners, in particular, we look to our life experiences to inform our learning.
I work with individuals and small groups to help them to achieve understanding.

*Statistics* is one of my top subjects!

I am very patient and I make sure the student thoroughly understands a topic before moving on. I motivate the student to succeed and teach good study skills and test taking skills. Normally, I use the student's textbooks and classroom materials during our lessons. For standardized tests, I use prep books, such as Princeton Review. Students do best when they are encouraged and receive positive feedback. My students are extremely satisfied after our lessons, and I receive wonderful feedback from children and adults I tutor.

For the past 10 years I have been tutoring, working with students and helping them in various subjects. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Binghamton University, SUNY in 2005. My GPA was 3.8, and I was on Dean's list every semesterOne of the subjects I tutor is college statistics and a student of mine went from an F to a B. **A Little Bit About Me...**

I am an elementary school teacher in the Northern Virginia area and have been tutoring students for the past 2 years. I love my job and would not change it for the world. Working with kids every day is something that I not only enjoy, but helps me as well. I learn something new every day. Being a teacher has taught me that all students learn in a different way and you have to address the needs of individual children.

Different children learn in different ways. Some are visual learners, some are auditory learners and some are kinesthetic learners. I like teaching in whatever way best connects with the student.

I believe in Minimalism. I tutor Math from the point of view that the shortest path is the best path but everyone learns differently and finding the right method for my students is one of my main goals when tutoring. I teach students multiple ways to solve a particular problems and they get to decide which method works best for them, hopefully its the simplest method. Public School class rooms have 30 plus students and only one instructor. The low instructor to student ratio makes it difficult for more then one method to be taught leaving some students behind. When students feel they don't understand, they become self conscience of their perceived lack of knowledge making them less confident in mathematics which leads to procrastination on their homework . Besides finding the right method, another of my principle goals is helping my students grow in confidence. I want my students to enjo ... read more
