My comments on tutoring Flute : I played the flute in high school in both the marching band and jazz band. Also, the flute was my minor instrument in college while receiving my music education degree.

I use a combination of both online games and Websites and hands-on manipulatives. First, I like for the student to take multiple intelligence tests and then I know how best to help the student. The information I gain from the analysis is extremely informative. It tells me where the students' strengths lie such as some students are musically inclined, some are visual learners, auditory learners, some are mathematicians and various other styles. Then, the style that they learn through the best is how I would teach the student; this is based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. Second, meeting the standards are essential in today's education system. The four C's of the 21st century is also necessary for students' to learn. They are collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

My experience has been primarily with children within my school or those around my neighborhood. I find that children are more capable of learning in a stable environment that they are familiar with. Children respond well with well timed incentives and subtle reprimands of lost focus. Students are more likely to acknowledge a lack of concentration skills once their intelligence is put into question. Under my tutoring students are able to concentrate more and see an improvement in their grades. Ill behaved children are more likely to round out their behavior once an appropriate hobby is acquired for them and holds their interests. All materials should be produced based on the individual child's rights.

My comments on tutoring Flute : Was in band and other musical groups in school, played flute and took lessons.

While in College I was a part time nanny for a single Mom with twins. I started taking care of the twins when they were 2 and continued until they were almost 4. I was an assistant teacher part time at little playmates preschool daycare. During my time there I worked with the 2 and 3 year old class and the 4 and 5 year old class. I also helped the older children with homework. I was responsible for helping with meals, playtime and supervising outside activities. Flute is one of my top subjects! 15 years private teaching experience, Bachelors degree in flute performance, with experience in many different styles of music. I have extensive experience ranging from district and college honor bands and All-State performances, as well as jazz bands, wind ensembles, orchestra material, and woodwind quintets and recitals.

I began tutoring others at the age of 16. After many years of district honor, all state, and college honor bands, I continued with my music education in college, branching out into other instruments, musical genres, and different ensemble types. I also took various lessons with several different teachers on the same instruments to truly get a well rounded experience, while continuing to teach others. After college, I still continue to play and perform with various community and private organizations.
I prefer long tone studies, followed by a chosen etude reflecting the desired skill currently being sought, then application via a prepared solo piece. Generally, success in this area deserves a fun reward, so then I may next "mix it up" a little with a duet or a piece from a different genre.

I have been tutoring for a few months already, mainly for sciences. I have 3 chemistry students and 2 biology students. I also have experience teaching groups. I was a teacher intern over the summer with breakthrough Miami. I taught 6th grade planetary science and Earth science. I am currently a marine biology student at FIU and am working in a lab that is testing whether the oil spill in the gulf is effecting deep sea communities in that area.
I like making things hands on if possible. I try to focus on what the student is struggling with rather then covering subjects that they understand.
