I've had 2 internships at Microsoft as a software developer, which gives me greater context through which to teach students computer science. The realization that children do well in small group instructional settings, and on an individual tutoring basis, is what I took most from my years in the classroom. My focus is to ascertain the instructional level needed, then instruct for that standpoint. I do not like busywork, but instead look for progress in the individual child.
