Experience Summary
I've been working on and with computers for more than 28 years and during this time, have gained a wide variety of experience across many disciplines. From studying how early versions of Windows and DOS interacted, to building and servicing custom-made computers both professionally and personally, to working in IT for over a dozen years in various capacities...my experiences have made me a well-rounded IT professional. I can do everything from graphic design to sound and video editing, music composition, photo books, home servers and networking, home office, backup strategies and more.
Teaching Style
I'm a laid-back individual and have an easy-going demeanor. My mother was a schoolteacher so I come from this kind of background and its both familiar and enjoyable to me. I can switch from laymen's terms overviews to in-depth technical discussions of how things work and will tailor my approach to how you'd prefer to learn. I'm flexible to what works best for you.
My Hobbies
I love technology and creating things like music. I appreciate the outdoors and enjoy fun things like kayaking and even skydiving. Movies and shows are nice too when you can find a good one.
Other Comments
Empowering others with knowledge is something I enjoy. I firmly believe in the parable about 'teaching a person to fish' vs. 'giving them a fish'. I'd rather you have the ability to help yourself when it comes to computers. I'm here to help!
