Experience Summary
I have worked in both government and the private sector as a trained specialist in International sales & marketing, strategic planning and business risk analysis since the mid-1980s. My career has included hiring, training and managing local sales & support staffs in Europe and Asia for the Los Angeles Times and The Meredith Corporation; building advertising sales revenue in foreign markets (including France and Italy) for media operations; and building diverse strategic relationships with foreign companies to drive sustainable business development.
Teaching Style
When training sales people and representatives in foreign markets, I'vs followed an approach that includes (1) setting achievable goals based on student abilities and my own resources, (2) frequent and repeated drills on fundamentals/essentials, (3) use of diverse online media resources -- such as video, music, dialogs, pronunciation tools -- from which students can select the ones that are most timely, relevant and motivating.
My Hobbies
Following foreign and independent films; Shooting and editing video, especially aerial drone films; skiing, hiking and deep sea fishing; reading current French and Italian fiction and listening to French and Italian podcasts
