Experience Summary
I have a B.S. in Education from NIU,Illinois. Graduate work at Northridge State,CA. I'm a volunteer tutor at Mary's Place/Sharing and Caring. I've been a Reserve Teacher for the Mpls Public schools specializing in Special Ed. for five and one half years. I'm a history judge every year for History Day.
Teaching Style
Patient. Positive.Encouraging. Keeping it light. My primary aim would be to build the student's self confidence and image. Encouraging enthusiasm for the subject matter,by making it more receptive,would be an additional desired outcome. I would place special emphasize on promoting the need to read,write,and speak well, regardless of the subject. Teaching critical thinking would also be a goal. An instructor can't really teach a student. But the pupil can be given learning support and the tutor can plant the desire to pursue the individual's own education at their own pace, by providing the right guidance.
My Hobbies
American history and government. Reading. Writing. Speaking.

My goal is to see the lights come on in a student's eyes. Progress not perfection.
