Experience Summary
I am a PhD student with 9 years of intensive experience in Mandarin Chinese. I have a minor in Asian studies, have lived in Asia for 1.5 years, and have won two Chinese speech competitions, both at the local and national levels. My greatest strength is speaking and pronunciation, but I can also help with reading and some writing. I am particularly good at explaining pronunciation to English speakers.
I also have a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration. I can tutor students learning about local, state, federal, or international governments. I have interned at the Utah State House of Representatives, and I have worked on several campaigns. I have also taken courses in public finance, organizational behavior, and statistics.
Finally, I am a skilled speaker and can help individuals gain confidence in front of a group. I competed in high school debate for three years, served as the debate president for one year, and competed in college debate.
