Experience Summary
I am a British born Teacher, Actor, Director and Writer. I moved to the U.S almost 5 years ago to return to school and train at a Conservatory - The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Previously I had been the Vice Principle of a huge high school in the UK. I ran a team of 27 arts based teachers, built and developed a 3 million pound community theatre as well as teaching English and Theatre Arts. I was designated as an 'Outstanding' teacher by Her Majesties Inspectorate of Schools (HMI)
I love teaching but I decided that it was time to follow my own creative path and moved to NYC to start my acting career - I have recently appeard on FX in Louie, as well as all over NYC in a number of plays, I can be seen as George in the web series Got Skillz and have just completed a 7 month shoot of a TV series called Wall Street English.
I am a great mix of teacher and working actor - I know what is going on in the Industry but I also have the educational understanding of how and why people learn.
Teaching Style
I am a very energetic and enthusiastic teacher. Style will vary depending on the student - I will adapt and work with individuals in order to help them reach their goals.
I love to talk through issues and understanding and there is nothing like a good open question to help a student start the path towards comprehending a subject for themselves.
Acting wise - I am trained in Meisner, Stanislavski, Brecht, Suzuki and a number of other recognized methods
My Hobbies
I am usually found in a theatre of some kind - either working or watching!
I love finding out more about the States and I am gradually getting round to visiting and exploring more of them.
