Experience Summary
Ahoy! My name is Julia, and I am a Junior at Yale. I grew up in NYC, prancing around in coffee shops, studying with my friends at 6am the day of a big test. Many students, myself included, learn best when they wade through complexity with other people.
I am here to help! I (not so fondly) remember hours of SAT, SAT2, ACT, and AP practice, and am very familiar with the format of standardized tests. I specialize in test prep, as well as Literature/Language, Social Studies/History, and Math (through pre-calculus). As a Humanities major, reading and writing is my food and water! I would be happy to help proofread your papers, brainstorm ideas, or work on structuring effective college essays.
I have taught in many different settings - public schools, 3rd grade LD classrooms, journalism workshops for high schoolers, after-school tutoring for middle schoolers, to name a few! I have also tutored elementary school students with special needs, and some with autism. I am very flexible in terms of pace and style of teaching - and am SO excited to meet you!
