Experience Summary
I have been tutoring since 2008. During that time, I have helped 1000 students to improve their grades and understanding of the material they are struggling with. I have experience with large group settings (40+), small group, online as well as lots of one-on-one tutoring.
Since tutoring is an evolving field, I have expanded my knowledge with tutor level one and advanced tutor (level two) certification from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). I am also very qualified and have many hours of training in both in-person and online tutoring from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
I am pre-med and currently in grad school for public health. I tutor general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology (especially in genetics, anatomy, and microbiology), most physics courses, math (algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and pre-calc), ACT, GRE, DAT, MCAT, Advanced Placement, and other test prep.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is very unique. I have learned from various sources: professors, TA's, other tutors, and even from some of my students. No one person teaches the same way, which is why I try not to follow a blueprint. I try to adapt to the needs and strengths of my students, while trying to improve upon their weaker areas. Instead of trying to control the tutoring session, I aim to get the student involved as much as possible so that they remain interactive and are a part of the learning process instead of an observer.
My Hobbies
I love running. I have been running competitively since 8th grade. I walked on the track and the cross country team at UW-Milwaukee and have a successful 5 year career while attaining my bachelors and starting my masters. I also love biking. I like to get out and enjoy the city. I have a passion for medicine and aim to become an orthopedic surgeon.
