About Me

Experience Summary

I hold a Master’s degree from a German University and a diploma from a German language high school with all instruction in this language, provided by native German-speaking faculty. I have ten years of work experience teaching German language to children, students, adults and professionals as well as translating and interpreting. I have four years of experience as a distant learning program developer in German language. As a German language specialist and curriculum developer for the National Network of Digital Schools, I developed the German curriculum for all levels for several US cyber schools, including the PA Cyber School. I was responsible for creating, preparing, and uploading the online lessons, assignments, exams, exercises and voice recordings. Furthermore I have ten years of scientific work using exclusively the German language, as well as one year working on various Google projects in German.

Teaching Style

My German language curriculum is developed according to the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning. Along with the academic study of the language I apply various communication and interactive assignments. Furthermore I engage the students in conversations on a variety of topics in order to provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions. I develop insight into the nature of language through comparisons between German and English language as well as knowledge and understanding of the the cultures in the German-speaking countries. My goal is to make the German language study a personal enjoyment and enrichment for the students.

Other Comments

I believe that the study of another language leads to grater development in the areas of mental flexibility, creativity, divergent thinking, and a better understanding of other cultures. Historically, German and English belongs to the Germanic languages family and many common words are similar in both languages. That makes the German language very attractive to English native speakers.
