Experience Summary
I graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My specializations are in elementary education (prek-6th grade) and all-level special education. I worked in Hale Center ISD for the after school enrichment program at Akin Elementary from August 2012 until the program ended in June 2013. I completed one rotation of student teaching in special education at Hillcrest Elementary and one rotation of student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom at Thunderbird Elementary. I have been teaching special education at Highlands Elementary since January 2014.
Teaching Style
Through my teaching style I emphasize hands-on learning by using manipulatives. I also use modeling and repetition. I believe the best way to learn something is to practice doing it yourself over and over again using various methods. Practice makes permanent! I enjoy incorporating fun and games into education because I believe learning should be fun!
My Hobbies
I enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking and hiking. I also enjoying playing board games, card games, dominoes, and acting games like charades. I enjoy
watching a good movie or reading a good book as well.
