Experience Summary
Bonjour! I graduated from Oberlin College in 2012 with a B.A. in French. I've been studying French for the past 12 years, and I'm completely fluent. While in college, I tutored local high school students, assisted the local high school French teacher, and taught a beginning French conversation group for the college. I recently came back from living and teaching en Bretagne for a year where I taught English at the high school level, worked for a children's language program, and tutored all ages and levels. Whatever your background in French is, I can help you improve it.
Teaching Style
When I begin with a new student, I like to get a grasp of exactly what they're looking for. Are you more worried about grammar? Reading? Conversation? My lessons tend to be relaxed but structured and informative at the same time. I will always spend at least some of the lesson holding a conversation in French (the whole lesson for more advanced students). There is never a stupid question, and we all make mistakes. Above all, I make it fun because that should be the point of learning a new language: it can take you all kinds of places.
My Hobbies
I like to read, cook, bake, workout, and travel (when I can). I'm also getting back into piano...I studied for a number of years.
