Experience Summary
I have taught nearly all areas of language arts including, but not limited to, ECA/GQE remediation, SAT/ACT prep, beginning-intermediate-advance composition, AP English/literature, poetry, American literature, British literature, drama, speech, and school newspaper. I have, in addition, worked with school drama productions, encouraged my "poetically inclined" students to participate in school poetry slams and co-founded a student art/literary publication. I was also voted "Most Influential Teacher" for eight straight years. Additionally, I have been an instructor in adult education with a high pass result for my GED students.
Teaching Style
I combine various styles from "old school" to best practices to differentiated offers.
My Hobbies
Of course, I like to read, and my reading areas of interest are eclectic. I also enjoy cooking and collecting recipes, particularly from "back in the day." Other interests are cross-stitch and family trees.
Other Comments
One personal commitment I have always observed is to make certain that my students succeed to the best of their abilities. I try to discover the best individual approach that will bring understanding to each and every one.
