Experience Summary
I am a veteran teacher with 32 years in the classroom. I have taught a variety of grade levels with most of my time concentrated in kindergarten, first, and fifth grades. I am a National Board Certified Teacher which has given me the opportunity to put research into practice. I have taught advanced students as well as autistic, Down Syndrome, developmental delayed, ADD, ADHD, and learning disabled students.
Teaching Style
I approach teaching from the view point that students need concrete information as well as a means of applying that information. Therefore, I advocate hands on esperience learning. I like to use high quality literature, games, and technology in my lessons. I like to get to know my students as quickly as possible and incorporate their interest in the lessons as well. I understand that different students need different approaches. I work with each student where they are and move each one forward to reach their individual goals.
My Hobbies
I love being with my family- participating in their interests and I love to play tennis and work with ceramics.
