Experience Summary
Hello! My name is Anna. I started playing flute in 2002 in Elementary School, and thoroughly fell in love with it. By 2004 I decided to begin competing, and so I did. I continued on competing throughout the years and participated in several classes in school for band students. In middle school, I began picking up random instruments and learning them, though I never did progress. I can play other instruments, but I'm not able to teach anything other then Flute/Piccolo. As you can see, once I hit high school, most of the awards stopped. I didn't audition because of the stress of battling with grades and practicing long hours. Preparing for competitions stressed me out beyond belief, so I quickly began practicing on my own terms. I never did stop playing flute, though I did stop competing. I'm currently 18 years old and residing in Cartersville, GA. I had a difficult life with my family and I had no choice but to drop out of high school (temporarily) as of 2012. I'm going back into school this upcoming year to get my High School diploma, but until then, I've decided to help other people learn what I loved! Flute. I find it easiest on my behalf to teach beginner/intermediate levels, though it's not to say I can't teach advanced. If a flute is needed in private lessons, please don't be afraid to ask. I have a spare that I can lend out, but I won't be able to leave it at someones house. It's an open hole flute, and I highly suggest for beginners who have never played with open holes to purchase a closed hole flute on their own. If a flute is broken, I know what I'm doing (to an extent) and will be able to quickly fix it in a middle of a lesson if needed (no extra charges unless spare parts/materials are needed). I have no problem with giving out a free first lesson to students who just want to try it out - all I ask for is help paying for gas to travel (there and back). If needed, I will give piccolo lessons. I have more then one piccolo, but they are both of poor quality/condition. They are playable, but I do not reccomend playing them in a competition. Please, only serious inquiries! I'm available everyday of the week any hour of the day (usually).
