Experience Summary
I dealt with many foreigners from different ages and backgrounds for more than 4 years , teaching them Spoken (Syrian,Jordanian and Lebanese) AND Classical Arabic.
I have a course to follow and i do give a home work and practical training, and that might include if desirable learning "in the field" or in the reality away from the class room, dealing with day to day life idioms and expressions and sayings.
and as i say always , give it a try and you will see that it worth having you own time and interest to be given to you ONLY.
