Experience Summary
You can only benefit from a mutual working relationship with me, the real deal – an Italian from Rome with varying Latin and Italian language (and culture) tutor experience, with a Master’s degree to boot.
With a working portfolio of seven students and eight years’ experience, I have mastered the art of time-effective, cost-effective language learning for students of all abilities, ages 14-24. My intimate network of educands forced me to think creatively and plan strategically for each student’s goals – passing a test, augmenting general working knowledge of a subject, constant tutoring and assistance, and so on. I have worked with students who have severe behavioral disorders, those who are learning handicapped, others who were extremely advanced for their age, and some others who were simply average. Conducting engaging lessons is the key of my work – especially at this particolar age, because as we all know, teenagers aren’t very keen on learning in general. Be it through presentations, conversation, translation, reading, field trips around the city, online games, or more, I seek to keep my students’ attention and remain fresh each week.
My main curriculum is Latin, Italian Language and Grammar, Italian Culture and Literature, and World History and Geography. This is where I excel – and this is why you need me. While some may find my knowledge base restricted (among the humanities), I find a specialized approach allows me to extract the best out of each learning session – I am, after all, an expert in what I do.
I have come to you after several years of self-discovery.
After completing my Master’s in Journalism from La Sapienza in Rome in 2011, I began a year-long journey of travel and exploration, visiting places like Kenya, France, the US, Germany, Sardegna, Turkey, Spain and England. These travels helped me to understand that every culture is different than the others and needs respect. Since 2012, I have been a freelance contributor to “Il Tempo,” an important Italian newspaper, covering topics like economy, politics, sports and many more. I am also a current contributor to “Progress,” a marketing magazine that discusses about international and local news, events, politics and econom. Simultaneously, I was also Professor Martano, part-timeteacher of Italian, Latin, and History – until I moved to New York in February, that is.
