Experience Summary
I have taught violin lessons to students of all ages and levels for 20 + years. Letters of reference are available upon request. I am also a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and have been critically acclaimed as a Violin Solo Recitalist in New York State. As a professional violinist I have performed at Broadway shows, for free lance professional orchestras and more in the NY area and currently I manage and perform with an ensemble called "The Capricccio Ensemble" for small concerts, weddings, and private functions. Capriccio Ensemble has performed concerts at St. Josephs Seminary (for the NYC Roman Catholic Church/Archdiocese), and at Downtown at Grace Church series in White Plains, the New Rochelle Public Library and at many other locations.
Teaching Style
I teach very young beginners (under 5) via the Suzuki Violin Method. Other students are taught utilizing traditional teaching approaches, method books ranging from A Tune a Day to study books by Hrimaly, Sevcik, Shraidieck and more. They learn to incorporate their technical skills which are honed by learning scales, positions, and studies in their repertoire such as short pieces of music and student and professional concertos for the Violin.
My Hobbies
Cooking, visits and walks to the ocean, beachside, parks, natural environments, and listening to great music of various styles and cultures.
Other Comments
There is also a 2x a month ensemble titled "the Mini String Ensemble of Lower Westchester" which some of my students perform in. If you study with me and are very interested, we may have room for you to be a part of this performing ensemble. They give concerts for the Federal VA Hospital in St. Albans (Queens NY) and at Nursing and Retirment Homes and Centers in the NY area!
