Experience Summary
I have been teaching and tutoring math for about ten years, and I am certified from elementary to the high school level. I have increased the passing rates for students for both graduation and college entrance requirements.
Currently, I am working as a high school math teacher for McAllen Independent School District, and I have taught every high school math subject. I also have good experience tutoring at the college level.
Teaching Style
I love to tutor. Tutoring offers benefits that the classroom cannot. I teach by asking a lot of questions. I like to get to the root of what my pupil understands, and then build on that knowledge by showing how that same level of understanding can be applied to more complicated concepts. I offer many examples and different methods to achieve the same result to solidify the concept and to allow the pupil to choose which method best suits him or her.
My Hobbies
Music, basketball, and chess.
