Experience Summary
I have been teaching and tutoring students for more than 20 years. I currently provide online as well as in person tutoring to students in the areas of phonics and reading. I am an ESL teacher for a couple of online companies in China. I work as a substitute teacher for the public school system where I live and I am also pursuing a degree in Spanish at Arizona State University. I previously taught in a small private school that I founded. The school served students in grades kindergarten through second grade and it was founded with the idea of promoting literacy through the encouragement of world language learning. I teach beginning and emergent literacy skills in English, Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin Chinese. I have also taught in two charter schools over a period of 15 years. During that time I served as a teacher in various areas, such as Kindergarten, First Grade, PreK, and Arabic. Prior to that, I served as the lead teacher for students in grades K-8. I have done in-home tutoring, both one to one as well as small groups. I also implemented my own after-school and summer school tutoring programs in which I tutored students in grades K-6 in their homes, my home, schools that I've worked in, and rented facilities. I have also been teaching Arabic on a platform called "Outschool" for a year and a half.
