Experience Summary
Experience:
My teaching experiences are diverse! I am a Certified MN Teacher in Health and Physical Education, but have been involved in various other content areas. I am enthusiastic about learning and willing to assist students with their learning goals!
My experiences began at the Middle School level, teaching 8th grade Health.
Next, I taught 6-8 grade Physical Education.
Then I substitute taught in nearly every subject, grades 4-12.
This past summer I taught a Wellness and Recreation class for a chemical dependency treatment program.
For the last year, I have taught night school at an Alternative High School in Health and PE.
I teach Adult Basic Ed which includes varied subject matter, and Nursing Assistant courses.
Over the last decade, I have worked closely with individuals with disabilities. For 3 summers I ran a day camp for teenagers with special needs, planning and implementing a daily schedule of learning and activities.
Teaching Style
I am easy to get along with, and like to help people learn and understand what is being taught. I like to push my students to find their potential and grasp a strong work ethic, but to enjoy themselves at the same time.
I believe each student is an individual with their own needs, thus I am flexible with learning styles, and enjoy creating new ways to learn, retain, and apply knowledge.
My Hobbies
I enjoy reading, traveling (especially to mountainous areas), walking my dog, and being outside any time of the year.
