About Me

Experience Summary

As a science and math enthusiast, I excel in Science, mostly Biology courses, not just because they are challenging as subjects, but also because I find them very interesting. I am very passionate about science because it is very fundamental to learn and to understand it. I started tutoring my sophomore year in college after I received credits for my first and second year in French. I would professionally tutor students weekly for 6 hours in all level of French courses. I also worked as a General Chemistry and Biology Laboratory/Teacher assistant. As an assistant, I would personally tutor the students, especially freshmen and sophomores, and help them get ready for their exams since I have had a lot of experience with those science courses over the year. The science courses ranged from General Chemistry to Molecular Cell Biology. I have an extensive science background and I was a member of the Biology, Chemistry and Leadership honor societies at Mercer University. I also tutored general Biology to high school students during their after school programs. With my tutoring experiences, both personally and professionally, and my love for science, I have learned to master different student’s attitudes and ways of learning.

Teaching Style

A good tutor is one that cares and is passionate about what they are teaching There is no better way to pursue a passion than tutoring it to others. Every student is ready to learn, they just need to be stimulated intellectually and mentally. The best way to stimulate a student is by showing the student that knowledge is fundamental and by sharing my love for science while making the subject more interesting, applicable to real life, and fun. For an efficient tutoring session, I would have to first identify the source of the problem; that is where the student fails to understand. From there on we would work our way up while trying my different techniques of tutoring until I would find the one that is suitable for the student.
