Experience Summary
I am a recent Bachelor of Arts graduate with a double major in Philosophy and Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ. During the latter part of my college experience, I began teaching in K-12 classrooms. Quickly and suddenly, I realized that I was going to make teaching a career, both because of the personal satisfaction it gave me and because of my effect on the students. Since then, I have been assiduously exploring avenues to increase my classroom experience and competency.
Teaching Style
My personal teaching philosophy is that there is no teaching without learning. Most classroom studies are at least partly removed from their intended application, for reasons of assuring comprehensive competency and because of the educational structure, i.e. attending school comes in advance of and separately from applying one’s knowledge. However, learning a language,for example and especially while living in it has both a need for constant practice and occasion for immediate application. The broader linguistic community has thusly prioritized practical teaching methods, of which I wish to avail myself.
