Experience Summary
I started my teaching career as a Teach For America corps member in Atlanta, Georgia, where I taught sixth grade language arts at Crawford Long Middle School. Most recently, I had the honor of teaching at KIPP: LEAD College Prep Charter School in Gary, Indiana. I previously held Language Arts Certificates (6-12) in both Georgia and Indiana. Teaching Style
Teaching was never a job for me, but rather a way to practice a passion. I believe that every child possesses the ability to learn and it is the responsibility of educators to cultivate such talent and foster growth. I believe in helping students reach their potential by teaching them to pose and answer questions about the world around them. My classroom was a place where children were excited about learning. I made sure to convey my love of the English language to my students and gave them the keys to unlock the wonderful world of literature. I was serious about producing results and helping my students become better readers. I used benchmarks to track their progress throughout the year, and nearly every student advanced in reading growth.
