Experience Summary
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Economics and plan to continue my education into a Masters of Science in Accountancy program. During my tenure as a student, I had the opportunity to work four years in the college's Academic Resource Center as a writing consultant where I assisted students to improve their writing ability and to understand that writing should be look at the process rather than attempt to "correct" each paper. In addition being a writing consultant, I also acted as a student assistant for the center as well. Because my area of expertise is accounting and economics, I assisted students with courses in those areas at each level (basic, intermediate, and advanced).
Teaching Style
Accounting and Finance often blend the theoretical and concrete. I strive to teach theories and concepts through fun activities and games in order to make learning fun and as stress free as possible. To fully grasp the numerical applications of accounting and finance the answer is deceptively simple: practice, practice, practice. Repetitive usage of math problems allows students multiple opportunities to increase their understanding of material. Every individual is capable of great learning but will do so in a way that is unique to them. I am happy to work with students in whatever manner best suits their learning style to ensure that each student finds academic success, meets personal goals, and experiences personal growth.
