Experience Summary
I decided to earn my BA in French since languages seemed like second nature to me. Additionally, I had to take Italian and I taught myself to read Greek. My tutoring started in high school when I successfully raised a students grade of F to an A in French. I also received an ESL Certification from London and used that here in St. Louis to teach ESL where I was employed at ELS. One of my students hired me privately as well and still consults with me. Over the course of my education, I have been called upon to assist other classmates with understanding French.
Teaching Style
My teaching style first and foremost is to not find translations. The easiest way to understand is to find the cultural equivalent. Because I have a passion for languages and teaching, patience is never a second thought. Throughout my educational career I have accumulated a variety of resources to assist in my teaching and find patterns that make it easier for the student to work with. I create homework, assignments and have fun. I am not rigid in my approach however I am fun and serious.
