Experience Summary
I've taught numerous weekend art classes to students ages 6-14 that included earth art, drawing comics, 3-D art, and LEGO simple machines. The Morton Arboretum teaches me the value of connecting people of all ages to nature through observation, activities, and art. Leading students at an Elementary School has taught me how to effectively step into any educator's position and accomplish instructional goals with precision and pride among students of varied talents and abilities. I am well versed in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, i-Movie, i-DVD, i-Photo, Kid Pix, Windows Movie Maker, and am comfortable with using technology with children. Teaching Style
I am patient, easy going, and enthusiastic about sharing my talents and knowledge in visual arts. I believe in practicing student centered educational methods. I guide students to think critically, work cooperatively, take pride in their successful decisions, and analyze their less successful choices. Motivating a student requires me to know the interests of each individual. I acknowledge student's interests beyond their work. My recognition of an individual's goals empowers the student to learn and grow.
