Experience Summary
I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a bachelor degree in Art History. My university experience has provided me with excellent skills in research, writing, oral presentation, and a broad knowledge of art and history. I am analytical and creative and have a great love for reading and discussing my favorite subjects. I have one year experience tutoring GED students in a writing prep class. My students range from teenagers to adults in their 40s, they also have varying levels of English comprehension. I would be a great tutor for pre-teens to adults looking for help in writing, research, English comprehension, history or any other social studies subject.
Teaching Style
I am a patient tutor who will happily explain a point in many different ways until it clicks for my student. I pay careful attention to teaching styles that do and don't work for my students so I may taylor my style to them. I am an enthusiastic learner and I love showing my students how much fun they can have, too. When subjects get complicated, I'm great at simplifying the tricky parts and putting it into easy to understand words. Flash cards, pictures, and mnemonic devices are all tricks I've used.
