Experience Summary
After rigorous study at a worldly and highly intellectual Liberal Arts College in Wisconsin, I learned to see and study people and their cultures with a critical eye. At Beloit College, I was pushed to study outside of the box, in domains where I was not academically strong, broadening my skills and expanding my knowledge, even though it may have been an uncomfortable challenge. I found my passion, in French/Culture and Music. I have worked with children and young adults inside and outside of education for most of my life. I continue to do so as a French Teacher at a private Montessori Pre-School. I am a highly capable to tutor in: French, English, Art, Music, or Physical Education.
Teaching Style
I feel comfortable and very much enjoy working with people ranging from children to college students. I approach teaching with energy and understanding and will always adapt my methods to different learning styles. I believe strongly in experiential learning. Therefore, I practice engaging my students with conversation, implementing practical-life contexts to our work, and manipulating visuals and materials for complementary comprehension. I come from a Montessori background and I frequently try to incorporate Montessori methods in my lessons. I consider myself an intuitive, compassionate, and shrewd teacher/tutor, and I try to make certain that all my students reach their study goals through my assistance.
