About Me

Experience Summary

I have recently finished my studies in graduate school receiving a Masters degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, and am exploring my career opportunities. I have spent the past several years diligently working on obtaining a degree but have had the opportunity to gain work experience working for various companies and organizations as my résumé will reveal. I enjoy working in a high energy and high performance work environment. I am anxious to take on new challenges and build upon my knowledge base. An important element in my career exploration is my desire to move ahead paired with my eagerness to be challenged. I have proven leadership skills gained from serving as a team leader, as well as from administering and planning activities and programs as an intern at a non-profit organization. I have been consistently rated at the “exceeded all job requirements,” level at my current employer and can provide business as well as personal references upon your request. I am also noted for being hard working and have gained a reputation for the time proficient and accuracy of my work. I am a creative problem-solver who can recognize objectives while never losing sight of details that deliver results. I have learned to become a motivated team-player with a demonstrated skill for deploying research and organizational skills. I am a goal-driven ambitious achiever with strong communication skills who is not afraid to explore outside of my niche.

Teaching Style

Children, now young adults of my generation, were often labeled the children of “Generation X,” but today many have labeled our youth as the children of “Generation Y.” Why have our children seemed to have given up? Why do our children so often succumb to the “street life?” Why is it that our children do not value education as they once did in the past? These questions are questions that, as educators, we must be able to identify and answer to break the cycle of a generation of children with little hope and no future. The youth of today are in dire need of leadership. I have chosen a career path in education to help fill the breach within the minds and lives of our youth. I have acquired and was blessed with an inert quality to lead. I believe that I would be an effective and positive example in the lives of these students. I have a great deal of patience and concern for the youth of this generation; knowing that they are “the future.” As a teacher I want to equip them with the needed skills and knowledge to be competitive in throughout their years in school as well as the workforce. To educate is to develop the mind and qualities of a person through teaching, instruction, or training. As an educator it is imperative that one must identify each student’s strengths, weakness, limitations, and delimitations. A teacher's personal philosophy of education is a critical element in his or her approach to guiding students along the path of enlightenment. My idea of the perfect teacher is one who inspires learning in addition to just relating the required facts. A certain amount of creativity, enthusiasm, and motivation is required as well. This expectation may be one of an egregious task as it is carried out on a daily basis; however, considering that the children are our future, the effort is well worth it. A teacher serves as an intellectual and moral role model for students and the academic program must be rigorous for both slow and fast learners. In addition, it is hoped that when the student leaves school, they will possess not only basic skills and an extensive body of knowledge, but disciplined and practical minds as well. Teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them. I feel there is a need for compassionate, strong, and dedicated individuals who are excited about education along with delivering it. In our competitive society it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be the best educator that I can be. I believe that all students can achieve their full potential as they follow the educational path, if they are given the basic fundamental tools to succeed.
