Experience Summary
I have broad experience working with a variety of students in different settings. My combination of domestic and international teaching jobs gives me a unique perspective on teaching and learning styles, curricula, and student needs. Although my main subject has been English, I have also gotten to teach science, global studies, and physical education. In every class, I have had the opportunity to work one-on-one with each student, focusing on those who have special needs. My graduate degree in interdisciplinary humanities has kept my writing, editing and analytical skills sharply honed. I have a personal and professional passion for life-long learning.
Teaching Style
My passion for knowledge and the practical application of that knowledge usually creates an enthusiasm in my students, as well. With individual students, I try to find a motivating factor in his or her life that makes learning relevant and motivating. Connecting with this motivating desire propels the student into authentic interest and desire to make progress. This approach allows each student to grow and change even if the growth comes in small increments.
