Experience Summary
As a student I was an honors student who maintained an "A" average in high school, college, and in my masters program. Before earning a BS in Psychology, I completed two years as an Elementary Education major. Although I decided to focus my career as a therapist, I have utilized this education by becoming both a substitute teacher and tutor. My education has allowed me to hone my language, literature, mathematical, research and study skills. I have tutored various students in mathematics, statistics, social studies, English, and reading and comprehension.
Teaching Style
I believe that all children have the ability to succeed. The key is to allow a child to feel empowered to have mastery over the material. Often time teachers explain new material in only one way. As a tutor I strive to find your child's learning style to help them understand the material, and learn good study habits early. I am patient and kind but believe that your child can be challenged to succeed. I also believe that it is important for student and teacher to trust and respect each other. Parents, teachers, tutors, and student are all key to the success of your child!
