Experience Summary
As a high school and college student, I was very active in my community as a tutor, mentor, teacher, and coach. I have earned a bachelor degree, BS in Exercise and Sports Science. This degree and other core courses have given me an opportunity to learn and understand many areas including math, science, reading, and history (social studies). As a college graduate, I have worked closely with literacy and classroom teachers with reading and literacy programs. I also have been a program assistant for academic mentoring programs; therefore I understand the importance of individual assistance for each child.
Teaching Style
Through my years of coaching and teaching, I have learned that a teacher must adapt his/her teaching style to the learning style of the student. A child can learn in different ways, and it is my job to find the most effective way to help the child learn. Growing up in a large family while my mother ran her own daycare, I learned to be very patient and caring for children. I believe it is important to be consistent and constructive in guiding our children to reach success. My goal is to provide a positive environment for every child in order to achieve his/her full potential.
