Experience Summary
Securing a BS in Political Science was a process that allowed me to examine a comprehensive body of knowledge that deals with the structure of our country, our belief systems, and our government. Having recently graduated from UCDHSC’s MBA program with an Entrepreneurial track, I leave the university equipped with a new set of skills. Most of the curriculum was heavy on the writing side, forcing me to take a hard look at my grammatical skills, but allowing me an opportunity to grow and learn. The volume of written work over the entire MBA Program was massive, but it allowed me to hone my research skills and refine my writing style. Having many integrated collaborative group projects over the duration of my attendance familiarized me to the team member mentality prevalent in our current work environments. I have tutored pupils in English, math, social sciences, physics, mathematics, life skills and learning the fine art of the Socratic method.
Teaching Style
Tutoring the children over the last two years has been the most rewarding work for me. When a middle school child actually gets up, goes and gets a dictionary, and looks up the meaning, pronunciation, and spelling of a word, without having direction from me, it makes my heart sing. Never have I had that feeling before, therefore it is my goal to continue to provide any child with the best tools, a positive mindset, and forward ambition to achieve the best opportunities in life that only an education can give them. I believe it is imperative that people of all ages, ethnicity, and socio-economic status have access to the best avenue to attain wealth, prosperity, and an increased quality of life: an education. It is my hope that when my students leave my class that they feel hopeful, excited, and energetic about their futures.
