Experience Summary
Prior to graduating from Michigan State University, I used my available time to tutor at various middle schools and high schools. I conducted study groups in which the students were taught several studying techniques for taking exams which also worked for my fellow peers. After graduating in August of 2002, I enrolled as a substitute teacher and found a tremendous passion for educating youth in a classroom setting. I continue to tutor part-time in subjects such as math, reading, writing, history, science, and french courses. In conclusion, I have been tutoring and educating students for 9 years now and will continue to do so for decades to come.
Teaching Style
Children are the future and with that said, education is vital to their success. I love children and the passion I have for their education goes beyond measures. I have a gift for listening and understanding the underlying problems that some children face in the classroom which makes it a lot easier for me to help them overcome certain difficulties. I take my time instructing courses and will not move on until the lesson is completely understood. I believe that if one child can understand something then so can the next. It is the job of the educator to help that child understand and doing so in a manner that is not degrading but uplifting - and when a child is uplifted and I see the puzzled face turn into understanding, that is my reward and that is what I strive for.
