Experience Summary
Throughout my undegraduate education, I tutored people of ages ranging from 6th grade up to the college level in areas ranging from English to math. As a mathematics and physics major, I have a very strong background in both math and science. Now, I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Denver also pursuing a PhD in mathematics. So, clearly my strongest area is math, but I have always been an over-achiever in every class that I have taken, and I would feel comfortable tutoring in almost any area.
Teaching Style
My philosophy of teaching is that a teacher should let students discover solutions in their own way. A teacher is someone who is there just to lead them in the right direction. It is rarely a good thing for a teacher to just provide an answer because often times this is of no help to the student. A teacher must read and understand where a student is coming from in order to ask the right questions and sometimes give answers so that the students can come to their own conclusions without being given too much information.
