About Me

Experience Summary

I love teaching and tutoring various groups of people! Attending the University of Michigan offered me many opportunities to tutor and teach people of all age groups. I have worked as a Teacher's Assistant in a preschool, a teacher for undergraduate students at U of M in a service learning class, and a teacher of a creative writing class for a group of adult males and females. My tutor experience includes working at a local after school tutoring program working one on one with students to focus on their individual needs. Over the past several years, I have tutored students in middle school, high school, and college in Spanish, Math, and English.

Teaching Style

My favorite teaching experiences have been tutoring students one on one-it is truly remarkable to see the improvement students can make when they are able to work at their own pace and with individualized attention. I am committed to helping children attain their goals through showing them how much I believe in their success. Through providing individualized attention, I enjoy adapting to how students best learn-whether it be through shorter, more frequent sessions, helping students to develop study strategies, or working with students to increase interest in a subject. I am very patient, compassionate, and flexible-I am committed to working with students to help them reach their goals. I also understand that parent and teacher communication can be essential to help a student reach these goals-and certainly would strive to maintain a relationship with a student's teachers to have an additional way to help track progress and unrecognized obstacles.
