Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate from William Paterson University with a BA in Early Childhood Education (P-3) with certification in Elementary Education (K-5). I feel it's important for children to establish a life-long love of learning from a young age. I believe children are curious about how things work and where they come from. Therefore, it is important to promote a sense of wonder and curiosity through hands-on materials. Elementary students need a structured learning atmosphere that is developmentally appropriate. It is important to use a variety of teaching methods and strategies in order to establish lessons, activities, and instructions that are reasonable to each individual's developmental standing.
Teaching Style
I believe it is extremely important to build a relationship with each student that I work with. Understanding each individual's skills and abilities helps differentiate instruction to vary and adapt my instructional approaches to meet diverse needs. I recently finished my student teaching experience, which I found to be extremely fulfilling. I truly learned the importance of building strong connections with each individual student, as well as their families. Understanding the needs and interests of each child has allowed me to differentiate learning to meet the skills and abilities of the class as a whole.
