Experience Summary
While completing a BA in Geography, I developed clear but nuanced writing skills as well as the ability to solve problems. As geography spans many disciplines, I also gained flexible thinking and the ability to analyze information from seemingly divergent fields of math and science. In the following three years after graduation, I traveled and worked as a sports coach. I developed a student-oriented ethic and additional communicative and analytical skills. I am currently pursuing my education again to start a career in software development and information technology. I have taught piano, skiing, snowboarding, and sailing and I am looking forward to applying my math, critical thinking and writing skills to a tutoring role.
Teaching Style
I originally got into teaching because I loved sports and wanted to help others develop that love as well. During this process, my interest expanded to assisting students in reaching any goals they may have. My approach is to identify strengths and weakness, create realistic goals, and then come up with a tailored plan to meet those goals. I am results-oriented; if a method doesn’t work, we try something else. My style is easy-going, patient and flexible to your child’s needs.
