Experience Summary
I have devoted my energies towards learning the basic sciences and then using them for developmental purposes
In August 2010, I received my Master of Science degree in Biology at the University of Houston. Also I have received Master of Science degree in Microbiology - Environmental Biotechnology at the Gujarat University, India. I have 2 years of teaching experience as instructor in Microbiology and introductory biology laboratories.
Teaching Style
As a teacher, I aim to perpetuate knowledge and inspire learning. More specifically, as a biologist I present the material with enthusiasm and point to its relevance in everyday life. Students respond better to learning something that impacts their lives rather than random facts. While teaching general biology, I noticed that several students would come
into class assuming that they were unable to learn anything scientific. Students get overwhelmed with scientific jargon and spend too much time trying to memorize facts rather than learning processes. To alleviate this issue, I introduce terminology as it relates to the issue rather than simply expounding on definitions.
