I have been an elementary teacher for 27 years and have a masters degree. I have taught grades 2-5. I taught third grade for 15 years in Galena Park ISD. I became a content mastery teacher for 2 years. I then taught art for 2 years. I received my masters in reading and became a reading specialst. I have been a reading specialist now for 8 years and I am currently employed by Schertz Cibolo University City ISD. My style is varied depending on the needs of the student, however, I mostly use tactile/kinesthetic styles with the use of visuals and manipulatives.

I like to have organization and structure while tutoring but I also am flexible and can change my approach on how I am helping the student based on his/her body language. If a student is bored and loves sports, after reading I love to go outside and play basketball with them while asking them questions about what we've just learned. Incorporating their interests in learning the subjects is important to me. I have experience tutoring students at an elementary and middle school level in reading, Spanish and science and math.
