I have worked in a wide variety of socioeconomic school settings, which makes me quite versatile when it comes to my approach to teaching. I start from the ground-up, first forming a cognitive scaffold for a subject by teaching the very basics. From there we branch off into more and more complex tasks. I have experience with graphic design and animation programs and love to use technology aids whenever possible. When all else fails I draw upon knowledge the student already possesses and attempt to form analogous models that are easier to understand. I have had experience in the classroom teaching the three major sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology) at the high school level and also did an apprenticeship as part of a graduate program for UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.
