I am a 2011 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science. During my education, I was exposed to many subjects, ranging from Electrical Engineering to European Literature. I usually like to meet with a person and understand their basic needs, before I decide which was to approach their tutoring - not every person learns the same way, so I approach each situation differently. While attending Mary Baldwin College, I not only majored in English, but also worked as a tutor in the school writing center. As a tutor, I worked with students (freshmen-seniors) on basic editorial skills, correct punctuation, and the overall writing process (brainstorming, rough drafts, final copies, etc). I have a relaxed, stress-free teaching style, while staying on task and topic. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. I prefer to relate things to the real world.
