I Love to be hands on have activities or fun ideas to help remember what is being taught I have been attending Utah Valley University for 4 years. I have been taking American Sign language for 3 1/2 years. I Love the language it is such a beautiful one. I have learned all about the deaf culture and history. I am going to be an Educational Interpreter, but will be diverse in other fields of interpreting. I love to share with others what I have learned.

I have done private tutoring at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT for almost three years teaching Spanish to the senior missionary couples and Mission Presidents and their wives. I have also volunteered to tutor at a number of different elementary schools in both Provo and Colorado tutoring at the kindergarten, 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade levels. I have also been a reading, writing,and math tutor to children in the Dominican Republic for a total of 4 months as a volunteer. Most recently, I have been a private SAT/ACT tutor here in Colorado. I believe that I keep gravitating back towards tutoring because I love it so much! I believe that the best way to learn is to have someone discover for themself or find a way to teach themselves the concept. Building a good relationship with a child is key to helping them learn. When good relationships are developed children can then trust the teacher or tutor to help them in whatever way possible. This relationship builds a good emotional bank account and children will do hard things when asked. I know that all children can learn. I have seen it while working with the wonderful children at the school I worked at. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2011. I am a graduate in Communications can help in English, Writing, Editing but also took AP Calculus and AP Statistics and passed both tests. I love math but feel that communicating through writing is very important. I am able to help students build their papers from the bottom up and go through completed papers and give assistance. I feel that I am able to teach and explain the elements that are required in a paper so that students may write better papers in the future. I greatly enjoy the one-on-one experience. As a former English major and editing minor at Brigham Young University I helped many students write and edit research and English papers. Along the way I also had the opportunity to edit an engineering Master's thesis. I have tutored in paper writing in various subjects as well as specifically tutoring in creative writing. I have worked with and on over thirty papers. I work very well one-on-one with students and am able to explain and teach what is necessary for better papers for the present and for the future.
