I still compose music to this day. I gained an interest in French when I was in middle school. Every student has a different learning style and I therefore, have multiple teaching styles to accommodate. I believe in learning through experience and therefore provide my students with real-life examples and tasks to complete so that they are more able to function in Russian settings. Since earning my Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah in Music Composition I have produced a Christmas album of piano arrangements, and original songs. It was played on two local radio stations, and will soon be available on cdbaby.net, itunes, amazon, facebook etc. I composed, produced, recorded, and edited the score for a movie entitled "The Measure of a Man: the story of Charles Coulsen Rich, Apostle of God" produced by Lee Groberg and Mark Goodman. My teaching style consist of using a variety of learning technique and atmospheres. It is a good idea to study the habits and styles of other composers, classical and modern to get an idea of how that compares to the student's style. Writing or composing sample songs based on someone else's style is a good idea, such as Beethoven, or David Newman, etc. Using theory practice is useful, but doesn't necessarily define a composer.
